Day Out With Thomas (the Tank Engine)?

Has anyone gone on this?

We bought tickets for Saturday and it will be our first time.  We're looking forward to it, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips for making it an easy experience considering it is probably going to be a mad house. Thanks!

  • We've done it two years in a row.  I'm not sure if our experience will compare becuase Thomas visits a quiet tiny town in Kansas, versus where he goes in Oregon. But it was run very well both times. Local shops came out for food options they had a huge tent for souveniers, another huge tent full of train tables.  The firemen came out with their truck, a school bus.  bounce houses, bubbles, temp tattoos, sandboxes.  You can pose in front of Thomas and take pics, the train ride for us is 20 minutes ten minutes out and back on the same track, but perfect for the attention span of little ones.  Have fun!

We have a t shirt from the first trip and a towel from the second.  I have some great pics from both those trips.  We sat it out this year but we'll definately go back next year when DS is older.

  • very fun day! we had a really good time when we went with my DS in may (he turned 2 in march). they had a bunch of kiddie rides and things for them to do while they were waiting. my DS loved watching the train come and go during other people's rides. there was a store set up with everything thomas that has ever been manufactured. also there were some train tables set up for kids to play with. you could have your picture taken in front of thomas (kid stands on a platform thingy and an employee takes their pic which you can purchase later). we didnt want to wait in the line for that and didnt know if DS would be willing to stand on the platform so we took our own pictures from the side of thomas. still got some good shots with thomas in the background and didnt have to wait. i just packed some light snacks and drinks but there was food there you could purchase (carnival type stuff...hot dogs, fried dough, etc) have a great time! my DS still loves looking at the pics from that day!
