Update on Baby E - NICU

Evan still wasn't able to regulate his breathing so he was taken to the NICU shortly after I wrote the last post. They aren't sure what is causing it but possibly just fluid in his lungs he wasn't able to flush out because of the c-section. It could also be an infection so they have him on antibiotics and sent out samples for tests but they won't be back until Saturday. Best case he'll leave the NICU then.

DH and I were able to get up and visit for a half hour this evening. It's so difficult to see him hooked up to IV's and oxygen, etc. but we know he is in good hands. And it's killing me to lay here and watch trivial tv when my baby is alone in the NICU. Actually, he's anything but alone - they have 7 other babies there and are quite busy.

Claire came to visit but obviously couldn't see Evan. I actually had my mom just take her to the nursery and show her a baby so they could wave to "Evan". She also loved the doll he brought her as a gift.

Oh no~ I didn't see your last post and I will send my thoughts and prayers your way. I know it's difficult to stay in your room while the baby in NICU but try to heal and relax.

Rest up and take care of yourself while the nurses and doctors take care of Evan - it will be the best thing you can do to him to work on your recovery so when he is ready for you, you will be ready for him. Thinking of you guys and keeping baby E in my prayers. Hope he will be out soon!

Congratulations on Baby E! You are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard it is feeling like that. Matthew was in the NICU for a week after he was born with an infection and it felt like forever =( I'll be thinking about you this week!
