My son has been on Alimentum for 4 weeks now and is still pretty fussy, screaming in pain with gas and spitting up a bit. He is also on Axid twice a day. Anyone else been thru this too? What worked if Alimentum doesn't?
Neocate or Elecare. They are prescription formulas. Extremely expensive, so I hope your insurance will cover it. We get 20 cans of Neocate a month and it is $1,500. Thank goodness for insurance.

DS went on Elecare and all his issues cleared up within a day(I was breastfeeding and supplementing with Nutramigen). I, too, am thankful for insurance. It costs us 10 bucks a month to feed him!
My Pedi gave 12 cans of NeocatE just in case I had to supplement or going dairy free didn't work. I've got 10 cans I believe. If you end up needing them I'd be more than happy to give them to you if you just pay shipping. Just page me if you end up needing them.

i was just about to say to call your pedi and ask for the prescription formula but damn -didn't know that its that expansive!
If your insurance declines it -fight it. and keep fighting it and tell them that if she doesn't get on that formula she will have to go constantly to the doctor / hospital and that will cost them a lot more. They really only care on what will cost them less.

Thank you so much. I will let you know what is decided after we go back to the pedi on Monday.
