Once your LO's turned one, did you put the bumper back in the crib? We didn't use it during the first year due to SIDS prevention, but now C. is bouncing around a lot and hitting his head on the bars. I am thinking about putting it back in.

We put ours back in about a month ago when DD was 8 months old. She began moving all over the place in her sleep and getting either her arm or leg caught in the crib rails sevearl times a night and we would need to "rescue" her. Since she moves around so much we aren't concerned with her suffocating anymore.
At this point, I'd be way more concerned about your Charlie using the bumpers to climb up and out and BAM.. onto the floor. We used the bumpers until our Charlie could stand up in the crib and then they were gone for good.

We have a breathable bumper that we put in when DD started to get her legs and feet stuck. She probably doesn't really need it though becasue it is usually pulled down on the side so she can look over it when she is laying down.

Haven't used our bumpers yet, but I am planning on it once we lower the mattress a little. Right now the bumper doesn't look really good and he is still swaddled so he isn't getting caught in the railing.

Ditto this! we had breathable bumpers in from around 4 - 9 months and then DD was standing on them, they'd collapse as they're supposed to and she'd end up with her leg stuck in the crib slates. No bumpers for us.
I was just thinking about this the other day. No bumpers now, but if we're going to use them, I figured there would be a short window putting them in and when he tries to climb on them to escape.
Unless he's hitting his head and waking up then I wouldn't bother with them. I have them but it's such a pain to change the crib sheet with them I wouldn't put them up unless you had to.

We had the breathable bumper until DD could roll and then once she was mobile we put the regular bumper in...so like at 8 months? She's 15 months now.
