Success after IF

tell me about 12 month shots

Were they worse (how they affected DC) than previous shots or about the same? DD is already feeling crappy thanks to one year molars poking through and I'm a little worried about her appointment tomorrow.

Re: tell me about 12 month shots

  • We had 3: Hep A, MMR, and Chicken Pox.  And a blood draw.  The last time we did shots DD didn't even feel it, one shot and it was well numbed with that lidocaine stuff.  This one, well she screamed.  But really not much else, a little fussy and more tired, but nothing too bad for 3 shots.  The blood draw sucked in that it was a finger prick that was just pinched for 10 min to get enough blood.  I was in pain watching and wanted to do this treatment to the nurse.  GL tomorrow, should be fine, the anticipation is always the hardest!

  • Three shots for us, too.  DS cried for less than a minute but screamed when getting stuck.  He was crankier than usual (partially related to a stubborn tooth) for about 10 days.  He also got a fever about 10 days after the shots which is common for MMR.  Once that fever cleared overnight with a dose of fever reducer he was back to his old happy self.

We also had three shots and a finger prick. The sqeezing of the finger to get the blood out wasn't fun, and she probably cried a bit more than usual with the shots, but she was fine after a good nap. Good luck!

No big whoop.  We didn't do a hematocrit, so it was just the shots. He went to school right after.
