Another pumping question...

I pump after every daily feeding. I may miss one or two if we are out, but I try to make sure I can pump so I can build my freezer supply.  In the morning I get 4-5 ounces and then the rest of the day I will get 1-2 ounces after every feeding.  So I am just wondering if this is the normal amount I should be getting?  What is everyone else getting when they pump?  How long do you generally pump for?

Thanks!

Re: Another pumping question...

  • For most people, morning is a higher producing time and evening is lowest. So you sound pretty "normal" as far as amounts.

  • I'm so zonked in the morning that I rarely feel up to it to pump, I should probably be doing this. However, when I pump after a feeding I get about 1 oz each breast. If for some reason he gets a bottle and I pump I can get about 5-6 oz total from both breasts.. What your pumping sounds normal when comparing to what I'm producing, but you'll see different amounts since everyone's "girls" are different.
