Hi Ladies.
I have been running pretty regularly (about 4-5x week, only 3-4.5 miles) since about 11 weeks (when i got over the 1st tri hump!). I have just recently noticed a general discomfort in my pelvic region - it is NOT a pain persay...it feels more like pressure or soreness....and it is not in my abdomen. I started noticing it during my runs. It is most noticable when I start to run (even after just stopping for a stoplight - I live in the city), but if I get into a groove after I've warmed up and don't have to start/stop, I feel pretty good.
I've noticed this discomfort has now stayed with me most of the day - when I get up after sitting or spread my legs, etc. I feel the discomfort...Any idea what is causing this? Is there anything I can do to relieve it while I run/walk? I wouldn't think a maternity support belt would help, as I'm not experiencing any pain in my back.
TIA!
Re: What is causing this discomfort while running/walking?
Round ligament pain maybe? I noticed around week 20 that running wasn't comfortable for me anymore, and I made the switch to uphill treadmill walking then.
Around that time I also found out I developed an inguinal hernia on one side of my pelvic area above my bikini line. I felt an achiness for a little while if I was on my feet too long, and then started to notice a golf ball lump that would go away if I laid down, but pop out when I stood up. Hoping its not this for you! More likely just your body's way of asking you to slow down a bit? Keep excercising, just maybe try something less jarring on your joints?
