Recommended hospitals and Docs on the Eastside?

Hi Ladies, Pixelvixen recommended I join the board, so hello!!

-->I really need help...where do you gals recommend I find information? We live in Sammamish, WA....so what is the closest/ best hospital to have a baby? I've heard some negative things about Overlake though I think it's the closest? Also, Doc recommendations? How do I choose? Based on Hospital?

TIA!

Re: Recommended hospitals and Docs on the Eastside?

  • I had our baby ay Overlake and had a great experience.  My OB is Elisabeth Anton at Bellegrove OBGYN

  • I have had several friends deliver at Overlake and have had wonderful experiences.  1 of them delivered high risk twins there and was very pleased.  I will be delivering there with my next baby now that I'm on the eastside.  I do know that Dr Haines is very very good and delivers almost ALL of his patients which is pretty rare these days.  He is kind and patient and just a wonderful person that really listens to people.

  • My regular OB is Dr Anton at Bellegrove.  I've seen some of the other docs there and I liked them.

I also live in Sammamish, and I delivered at Evergreen.  I loved it there.  You can always go and take a tour of both and see which one you like better and then pick a doc from there.   Evergreen isn't really taht much farther, plus you can go up through Redmond and sneak in the back way without ever having to deal with 405.

  • I highly recommend Dr. Lawler at Overlake OB/GYN. I've heard nothing but good things about Overlake, and so we're delivering there. He has an office in Bellevue and Issaquah, so it would be really convenient.
  • I delivered at Overlake and they were wonderful! Things didn't go so well so I was in for 5 days and my son was in the special care nursery for 9 days and never once did I regret my choice.  In fact I was so glad I didn't go with Evergreen or the UW (not that there's anything wrong with them).

My OB retired in August, but I also saw Dr. Anton and Dr. Moore at Bellgrove and really liked them.  My OB was replaced by Dr. Keely Brown. She assisted on my c-section and has provided my follow up care. I really like her but I can't speak as to how she'd be for all the prenatal stuff--excellent I'm sure!

  • DD was born at Overlake and we were so happy with our experience. We had great care and my labor nurse was absolutely amazing!! I was planning to have an epi but with her support, I was able to go med-free. The staff was very sensitive to both DH and I and took wonderful care of DD and I. I will definitely have our future babies at Overlake if possible :)

As far as choosing a doc, there are several great ones that practice in Issaquah and Bellevue. Based on where you are at, I would recommend going that route. You can look on Overlake's website for a list of their providers and then start calling around. If an all female practice is important to you, I went with Issaquah OBGYN and had a good experience. Their docs, and call docs, are all females.
