Since i've gotten pregnant i don't know wether i should give my child a name whether is be first or middle that has something to do with dh nigerian heritage. This is a concern that i've been battling for about three weeks. Dh is an american born nigerian and says he's only nigerian by last name [he jokes] i would like to because i think culture is a big thing but he wants to name the baby either clinton porter or naylah jordan. I love both names but my mother hates clinton and she also hates the idea of nigerian names! Any suggestions?

Your DH is the one who is Nigerian, and it doesn't seem as if he's wanting a Nigerian name.  To me, it doesn't seem like much of a dilemma.

And fwiw, it might be a good idea not to share name ideas with your mom.  It's your baby, not hers, and it's up to you and your DH to choose a name you both like.  We waited to share both of our babies' names until they were born, and I feel like that was a really great decision.

Ditto mlf. If your DH doesn't have any interest in honoring his own heritage, you can't force him.
