When did you really start trying to lose weight?

I am 3 weeks PP and down about 25 of the 40 lbs I lost. I was always really skinny and I am so ready to be back to my pre-pregnancy body. I have been walking everyday and feel really good, but should I wait until my 6 week checkup to really start working out? I feel good, but I don't want to mess anything up!  

When did you start working out again and really starting your weight loss plan?

  • I just hit 4 weeks pp. I've been doing some yoga and walking. I emailed my Dr about maybe swimming or something, she said yoga should be fine, but to wait until my appt to get her okay before doing anything else. I'm getting antsy! I'm almost to my pre baby weight, but I really want my shape back... as much as I can with these stupid giant heavy milk boobs!

    I'm umm...aadfjjdf day PP and I really started this week. I was doing some workouts and some healthy eating, but I really started getting things under control this week.

  • I think it just depends on each individual.  I was super fit pre-preganncy and stayed active throughtout the pregnancy.  I started with 3-5 mile walks at 6 days PP, jogging at 11 days PP, swimming laps at 13 days PP and lifting weights shortly thereafter.  I'm 21 days PP now and hitting the gym everyday and taking long powerwalks most days too. You should just just listen to your body and not push it too hard, too fast.  Exercise makes me happy so as soon as I felt good enough to jump back in I did.  My doc said to wait until my first PP follow-up, but a month was way too long for me to sit around.  I'm fatter, slower, and sweatier than I've been in years but I feel good for 3 weeks PP and I am just doing what my body allows.
  • I've been watching what I eat since my first meal after he was born.  Eating sensibly and taking walks since 2 weeks PP and haven't really changed too much yet.

    30 Day Shred started on Monday, I'm so frigging sore.

  • ha i had intentions of starting this week and then we went through a growth spurt and i never made it on a single walk so far.  though we did go shopping and to the farmer's market yesterdaya nd i walked a lot! i am down 20 pounds which is an extra 3 than i gained but i have been stuck here all week so i think i need an excercise spurt.. maybe this weekend when hubby is home.

  • started walking the week we came home just small walks bc it was so nice out! I started doing core work at 6 weeks

    started walks on level ground in the neighborhood at 2w pp.

    Now, at 6w pp, walks every day, and now starting some simple cardio and eating fresher.
