So the bump boards is where I have been posting on a lot since the beginning of this crazy adventure of TTC . I have told friends also about things going on. Not family. Family is a pain in the rear, gossip and over reacting and just annoying. I think they figure we are not even TTC anymore due to me being 41. Well thats all good and so much easier to deal with than telling them what I have been doing with the IUI's or miscarriages or now IVF. So now what happens??? UGh!!!! Is this really happening??
My mother is coming into town On July 15- July 24th. Are you freaking kidding me. Oh wait let me tell you the best part...(no she wont be staying here) She is coming to stay with her 93 year old aunt not stay at my house, so thats a little better) My ER is possibly July 19 So you also know that means transfer is 2-5 days after right. Crap on a stick!!! Really???
Here is what I am asking of you ever so creative ladies- What reason do I give as to not being able to go visit her, go to lunch with them and all that over those few days? Is there bedrest after retrival? transfer? Lets here you creative ways to avoid telling her what is going on???
Kristin
Re: Family and I need creative help from you
I would use the excuse that your DD was very sick and you cannot leave her at home with DH, or you could say that you and dd are both sick and you do not want to get them sick, especially your fragile 93yr old aunt.

If you're on BCP prior to stimming, you can ask to delay the entire cycle by a week (assuming they don't batch process everyone into a specific week of stimming). I had to move my FET out 3 days so my monitoring wouldn't conflict with my grandfather's out of town memorial service and they were willing to let me adjust it by up to a month.
There shouldn't be bed rest after retrieval- my clinic is very conservative though and told me to take it easy for a couple of days. Bed rest after transfer varies widely by clinic. My clinic seems to be on the extreme end- 3 days (72 hours) strict bed rest, only allowed out of bed to go to the bathroom and get shot in the rear with PIO, and allowed to sit up to eat meals. Other clinics tell you to take it easy but have no bed rest requirement. You will probably have lifting restrictions (20lbs for me) though if that matters.
You can tell her you have a stomach bug for a couple of days- when it comes down to it though people see what they expect to see. She's not going to automatically leap to "Daughter must be doing infertility treatments!" just because you beg off for a couple of days
