Ever since DS had an ear infection about a month and a half ago, he complains off and on of a headache. Most of the time he complains at bedtime or when I'm doing something with Maddie that occupies my attention. So DH and I have been brushing it off as attention seeking. When I ask where his head hurts he points to the same general place - the right side of his head, around to the back toward the base of his head. He has no other complaints and acts like his normal active self except that his general whiny-ness has increased. My mom thought maybe he needs to have his eyes checked but I've been noticing that he'll often complain shortly after he wakes up. If it were from his eyes I would think it would bother him after being awake and straining.....right? Today got me concerned because he woke up from his nap very whiny and whimpering and when I asked what was wrong he said his head hurt and pointed to the same place. After about 30 min and a snack he said it was better. I will say that I am overly paranoid when it comes to medical stuff, but do you think this warrants a call to the pedi? What would they even do in the office? I don't want to keep brushing it off if it needs more attention. TIA!
Re: question about headaches
I want to say call the pedi, but I've been putting off calling the pedi for a similar problem. Annabelle tells me her eyes hurt a lot. It's usually right above her left eye. Sometimes we shrug it off because her hair gets in her eyes and we think it might be that.
When is his next check-up? If it's within a month or two, maybe you could wait until then to have him checked.
If it bothers you and you're really worried, a phone call to the pedi never hurt. That's what they're there for:)
DD uses various not-feeling-good phrases to get my attention, do things / get out of doing things, etc.
But they vary, and a lot of times are very vague. Because he's saying the same thing over & over, and is specific about where it hurts, I'd say call.
If nothing else, it'll ease your mind, right?

Could it possibly be allergies, or sinus issues? Justin has been complaining of a headache frequently too, unrelated to any ear infections -- but given DH's allergies and some other symptoms, I'm thinking that's what it is with him.
Justin used to complain his head hurt whenever he had a sore throat. Is C eating OK?
I think it could warrant a phone call. It could be anything from strep to an ear infection to allergies to something else.
