So, Friday whenever Addy vomited all over Avery in her Rock n' Play, I took that apart, hosed it down (literally) and then washed it. In my crazed state I just threw the stuff from the rnp into the washer and used gain, really not thinking much about it. I normally use a free and clear on all of our stuff since she's been born.
Well, after spending a few hours napping in the rnp, she had a red bumpy rash down the side of her face and on her head. I'm assuming it's from the detergent. My question is, should it just go away on it's own, or should I call the pediatrician about the rash?
Anyone with experience?
Re: Rash from detergent??
DS had a rash that I thought was from detergent soon after he was born. I called the dr. and was told not to use the detergent again, put cool water on the rash, and time would take care of it (which it did). I was told NOT to put any type of cream or lotion on him b/c his skin was so "new". I did end up using the same detergent (Tide) again, but not for several months.
Thanks!! I figured it would just go away.
We are going to avoid using the gain or any other scented detergent for awhile.
I try and keep the rash area dry and clean, and I'll add the cool washcloth to the list!
