I need a new doctor ASAP---long

Hello ladies.  I am sorry thatthis is my first post here (and that it is rather long).  I normally poston first trimester but I do stalk this board somewhat.  

 

Anyway here is my issue and why Ineed recommendations for a new doctor as soon as possible:

 

 I had my first official Drs appointmenttoday.  I was NOT happy with him at all.

 

Some back ground: Last week I went to the ER because I wasbecause I was bleeding.  I had an ultra sound that showed a smallhemorrhage sitting on the outside of the sack.  The ER doc said Ineeded to be closely monitored for the time being but since I had my first?real? apt in a week I could wait until then.

 

Fast forward to today.  I was nervous but excited formy appointment.  I wanted to know if my baby was still okay and ifthe hemorrhage had spread.  So I met my husband there and we waited,and waited, and waited. An hour and 15 minutes after the scheduled time ofour appointment we were finally seen by the doctor.  He barleyintroduced himself, did not shake our hands or say any of the normalpleasantries (how are you? Nice to meet you.  etc.)  

He asked the standard medical background questions which wasfine.  I told him about the ER last week and he looked at the ultrasound results.  Then he very causally said ?well you have a 50/50shot of keeping this one?.  Now, don?t get me wrong.  Iwant to know my chances, but REALLY!!! There has to be a better way to havestated that.  Now by this time it was 2 hours after our scheduledappointments start time. MH had to leave for a conference call so I wasleft in the room alone.  The doctor never made eye contact withme.  It was like pulling teeth to get any information out ofhim.  The dude just told me I had a 50/50 shot he had to know I wouldhave questions.  So after much aggravation he told me that I shouldrefrain from sex and exercise.  Then he handed me a few sheets ofpaper and said ?these are your instructions for next time? and left the room.

I look down at this pile of paper inconfusion.  Wasn?t I supposed to get a second u/s to check on thebleeding? Oh I see it is on the paper for next week but I have to scheduleit someplace else.  What about blood work to check my hormone levelslike the ER doc said I needed to do? Oh I see on the paper I have to do thatelsewhere.  Where?  And why do I need to see a geneticconsular? I?m young and have no family history of anything.  But thepaper says I need to so there you are.

I left the DR office and went back to the officeupset.  I called to schedule the U/s other test for nextweek. The lady on the phone was nice and told me that wow Guess what Icould have gotten my blood taken that day right where I was!!! Nice of someoneto tell me that.

 Oh also the Dr. told me thatthe standard std screening could "prove [my] husbandsfaithfulness"

How far along are you?  I saw my doctor at 4.5 weeks and he got labs right away.  

Are you looking for a doc in MD, VA or DC?

Wow, that is a real winner right there. I don't know where you are but a number of ladies including myself use the Capital Women's Care office in Silver Spring. It's Drs. Band, Tyau, Resta, Sine and Lizardo. They are all awesome and I highly recommend that practice.

Which hospital are you planning to deliver at?  That would help us help you.

In Arlington I really like my doctors - Elliott and Lashgari.  They deliver at Arlington Hospital Center.  I also really liked Dr. Mary Crowther with Arlington Women's Center who happened to be on-call when DD was born so she delivered DD.  I don't know anything about the practice other than her, but she was fantastic during labor.

The Capital Women's Care in Fairfax on Chain Bridge Road is also good.  They deliver at INOVA Fairfax.

I saw Dr. Armstrong in McLean, Virginia for my first prenatal appointment on 6/13/11.  He was great!  He said that he would do a US at every appointment, which is great news for me!   His number is 703-748-9880.  GL!

I go to Reiter, Hill, Johnson and Nevin and they have offices downtown on 19th St, in Falls Church, and Chevy Chase.  Dr. Johnson is my main doc but I've been seeing Dr. Davis quite a bit and I like both of them.  I also had to see Dr. Osmund once when I changed an appt at the last minute.  I haven't met a person I don't like yet.  And I've been sing Dr. Johnson for years.  I hope she never retires.
