Summer Reading Incentives

I saw this list on a blog and thought others light like it as well:

Here are some great reading programs around the country!  If you're trying to encourage your child to read more, make sure to check out these terrific incentives.

{Borders}
If your child is 12 or under, they are eligible for this program.  All they must do is read 10 books of their choice (they do not have to purchase them from Borders).  List the books on this form, and turn the form in to any Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks between June 1, 2011 and September 5, 2011.  You'll receive a coupon for a free book!

{Barnes & Noble}
Children in the 1st through 6th grade can participate in the 2011 Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program.  All they have to do is read 8 books, and fill out this journal by September 6, 2011.  As a reward, they will be able to choose a book from this list.

{Books-A-Million}
Books-A-Million, Inc. launched its 2011 Summer Reading Program with Junie B. Jones. Children can pick up their Junie B. checklist at any of Books-A-Million's 230 locations or print this one. Children who participate in the program and read 4 books by August 1, 2011 will receive a free Junie B. Jones backpack bag to take on their own summer adventures.

{Scholastic}
Have your child log their reading minutes at Scholastic, and they will have the opportunity to win digital prizes.  There is no age minimum, so I created an account for my three-year old.  We read so much anyway - I thought it might be fun to win a few books! :)  Right now, the Scholastic website says, "read 130 minutes by Saturday (the clock is reset each week) and you will have the opportunity to spin the prize wheel."

{Half Price Books}
Children 14 and under can participate in Half Price Books Summer Reading Program.  They just need to fill out this reading log.  And if they read 600 minutes or more, they can turn in their completed log at Half Price Books between July 25 ? August 7 to receive their $5 Back-to-School Bucks summer reading reward!  And, the top reader per age group will receive a $20 HEB gift card.

{Chuck E. Cheese}
Looking for a great way to reward your kids? Chuck E. Cheese offers free tokens to reward children for development in different areas.  All you need to do is download and print out a calendar of your choice (they have everything from reading to potty training incentives).  Then, mark the days off with a pen or sticker as your child accomplishes their goal.  Once it is completed, bring it in to Chuck E. Cheese's and receive 10 free tokens as a reward.

{TD Bank (Several Locations in the DC Metro Area)}
If your child is 18 or under, they can read 10 books this summer and earn $10 in their new or existing Young Saver Account.  Just write down the names of the books they've read in the Summer Reading Form then print and take the form to your nearest TD Bank.

{Pottery Barn Kids}
If your child is 10 or younger, they can participate in Pottery Barn Kids's Summer Reading Challenge.  All they need to do is select which list of books they want to read.  Once they finish all the books on the list, they will receive a free book at participating stores.

{Sylvan Book Adventure}
Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read, and earn points and prizes (such as word games or a Highlights 6-month subscription) for their literary successes.
