I've hit a plateau in my weight loss and these last 10 pounds are being really stubborn. Really really stubborn.
I started running in the evenings after the kids go to bed. After last night's run, my hips were killing me and they still are. What gives?
Anyway, I'm thinking between the running and the 30 day shred I might be able to hit my goal before Summer is over.
Re: These last 10 pounds are killing me!
Are you still nursing? This may sound strange but have you been eating enough for breastfeeding and working out? I remember having to constantly work on my calories while breastfeeding and working out. Sometimes I would have to add more (during growth spurts) and then scale back (when we dropped a night feed, or added solids). It was a constant trial and error.
Also, my last ten pounds finally came off around 9 months with my daughter. I switched to a lower carb (south beach) type diet and that got the final ten pounds off. I was able to go back to my "normal" healthy eating, but it just gave me that last push I needed.
Good luck. I know it's a struggle. I will be posting a similar post to this sometime next year!
I am still nursing the boys. I eat like normal, I don't count calories or skip meals. I don't eat junk food. I try to eat healthy.
I'm hoping adding in the running will be the boost I need. I'm debating lowering my weight goal to 130 but we'll see. I don't know if I'm up for trying to lose 20 more pounds vs. 10.
Well, I think you look fabulous and only hope to look that good pp.
I'm a health nut and do a ton of reading on working out, eating healthy, nursing, etc, so if you ever want to ask me a question, feel free. I HATE counting calories. I only did it while nursing because I knew I would never eat enough to actually lose weight. I also did ww instead of actual calorie counting and that helped, but I didn't start that until 4-5 months pp when I was sleeping a little more and could remember things
I'm in the same boat. I'm just now trying to really ramp up my running again, it's been a while.
In 2008 I ran my first and only half marathon, and I had a trainer as I prepped for it. He taught me two critical things: You need to strength train to support your legs when running or you'll hurt your joints, and you need to ice after runs. I'd start leg presses, lunges, etc. and you'll protect yourself from injury. And if you can, ice after.
I'm SLOWLY losing weight, have been at a plateau for a long time but finally trending down. Hope you do too! GL!
