~~Lisa Frank~~

I am trying to do eat play sleep, but we can't get it down!

Here are some problems we are having, please tell me what you do. Our LO's are about the same age (adjust K's age) so I am hoping your tips might work.

1) I don't get up with LO at the same time. If she sleeps till 7, so do I. 9? Me too! Does this throw off the day?

2) Sometimes LO falls asleep at the end of her bottle. Or she is so fussy we soothe her and she falls asleep. Either way she wakes up before her next time to eat, but she's fussy?

3)Our biggest problem: she eats, we play, she falls asleep only to wake up 20-40 minutes later and is fussy to or sometimes through her next bottle. Then we have a cycle of us soothing her-she falls asleep- we lay her down- 20 minutes later she wakes up crying- start again.

What does your day look like?? Thanks!

  • Not Lisa Frank but you don't have to get her up at the same time every day yet. She's still little. Babies need a lot of sleep early on. As for the fussiness, is it possible she is hungry? When babies hit a growth spurt(there are a lot in the beginning), they will start to need more food.

  • I found www.babywisemom.com to be a good resource for "troubleshooting" the eat, sleep, play of Babywise and Baby Whisperer.

I really think that a consistent wake time is key...or at least that's what the books say. = )  It helps me to somewhat plan my day if I know she wakes up at a certain time, eats and stays awake for an hour then goes back down.  I know if/when I can leave the house!

G wakes up at 5, but I just treat it like a night time feed and put her back down until she wakes again between 7:30-8 so I can get more sleep!
