Hard water and CD

What issues will we face with having hard water? Is it enough of an issue to consider installing a water softener? TIA

Re: Hard water and CD

  • we had hard water in san diego, no water softener there and initially it was a pain as i was learning my wash routine and how much soap to use etc...

even once i got my soap amount corrected, i still had to do a hard core soak/wash cycle about once a month because stink issues would creep up

we moved to az with a home that had a water softener and in 7mos i never had to strip and didn't have any stink issues. we have moved again, still in az but with a house that doesn't have a water softener, it's been about a month and i'm not having any issues so far, but i know some of my pockets are starting to not smell as nice as i'd like.

if i start to have issues, i'll be getting a water softener installed as soon as i can

  • I have medium hard water, according to the water company, and use Calgon in my wash to help the detergent dissolve and rinse cleanly. I would try that before forking out the money for a water softener.

  • We use RnG Hard Rock and haven't had problems. I do an overnight soak every 3 months or so for a deep clean.
  • calgon is your friend!  and after almost a year I had pretty good luck using RLR to strip.  and we use RnG hard rock.
