Not BF but no AF?

I am almost 10 weeks PP and haven't pumped since she was 5 weeks. I was on the minipill, but when we had the pregnancy scare I stopped it. So now I am waiting for AF so I can start the real pill. Doctor told me if I don't get it by Friday she will give me something to bring it on. I am willing to wait, but I am ready to start the pill, because right now DH and aren't doing it because condoms burn!

Anyone (2+ moms) take forever to start AF even when you weren't BFing??

If you just stopped pumping 5 weeks ago, it doesn't seem odd to me that you haven't gotten it yet. It can take some time for your body to recognize what's happened.  I think it was actually 6 weeks after I weaned that I got my period with DS.

What can the doc give you to make you menstrate? I never heard of that before.

There is a drug on the market called Provera that will bring on a period.  I'm not a fan.

It took a good 6 weeks for AF to come for me this time around. Since you stopped pumping at 5 wks, maybe AF is just around the corner..... Just a thought!

Either provera or progesterone can be used to bring on your menses.  Provera has always worked for me but progesterone never really worked for some odd reason.  I've had to use Provera a lot since I have PCOS and had to force my period to start.  If I remember correctly, you take the pill for 5 days and then get your period about 10 days later.  Some ppl tend to have a painful period from it but I never had a problem with it.
