Anyone feel like a complainer when they call the OB?

I called the after hours yesterday and spoke with the OB because I was having some strong tightening in my uterus and chest pain. I have never been this far along so I have no clue what braxton hicks feel like. They told me just to take some tylenol and see if it helps. Well i have still been having a lot of these today to the point where I cant concentrate at work because it hurts so bad and they are about every 30 minutes. It also hurts my back really bad. So when I call in today I felt like a complete complainer because they were like it sounds like common pains but if your concerned you can come in... so I made an apt for tomorrow just to double check since I have been feeling so bad but I feel like they are going to treat me like such a complainer.... • Considering your history and the fact that you're carrying twins, better safe than sorry!!! I wouldn't feel bad at all. I hope you feel better soon.

  • Don't feel that way.  More than 5 contractions in an hour is cause for a call to the Dr.  As a matter of fact, if you're really concerned, you could go to your hospital L&D.

I don't mean to scare you, but you should read this:   https://www.babycenter.com/0_preterm-labor-and-birth_1055.bc?page=4

  • Don't feel bad. That is what they are there for. My MFM tells me every single visit to call whenever I feel uneasy. I love that they are so accommodating. Hopefully everything is fine with your babies. Hang in there.

  • I feel paranoid. Then I figure they think I spend too much time with Dr.Google.

  • I am an RN in an OBs office. Let me give you some examples of stupid phone calls. "can I microwave a tub of lunch meat and eat it over the next six months?" "I just finished dying my hair, should I be concerned?" "Three weeks ago I had sex with my husband and I'm afraid I may have hurt the baby" "where do babies come from?". You actually have a legitimate concern.
  • I'd definitely go in tomorrow. I was having the same symptoms over the weekend, and they ended up bringing me in to the hospital. My LO was in stress, so they monitored her for the day and I ended up having a UTI.

Don't feel like a complainer. I did this weekend, but I then realized that if I hadn't complained I wouldn't have known that I had an infection. Plus, they aren't getting paid the big bucks for nothing :-P They expect patients to call after hours.

     Really?

Yes you should go in if you are worried.  I am sure I have annoyed my OB office but I really don't care.
