Just moved here a year ago from CA. My husband is from here, he got out of the Navy and we moved here to live with his parents till he found a job. Well he found an awesome job and we bought a house in Cypress. I have NO friends here and its driving me crazy. Can anyone suggest a good church in this area or a mommy group??
Thanks so much!

Re: Anyone live in Cypress TX?
Not sure where in Cypress you are but there is a Baby Boot Camp group out there.
Disclaimer: It is not my group. I would get nothing if anyone tried this group. I own a different franchise not associated with the Cypress location.
I happen to live close by in the area near Cypress. The only mom's group I know of is the Mom's Club of Cypress-North Texas. I hope this helps.
Sorry, I snap this from my neighborhood newsletter. Their website doesn't work but you can contact the president about joining. My neighbor is in this mom's group and she invited me to a party to meet all the mom's there. They were really nice and I like them. I just haven't had the chance to join them yet.
What is Baby Boot Camp??
I am part of a MOPS (Moms of Pre Schoolers) group at Foundry Methodist - it's at Jones and 290. The group was instrumental for my sanity when I first moved to the area! I don't live in Cypress, but a lot of the moms in our group do. Send me a PM if you would like more information. We do a ton of stuff during the summer, but the meetings are during the school year.
It is a stroller based boot camp class geared toward moms with small children.
You go to Foundry? We go there as well, most Sunday's. :-) Does your DS go to the nursery? C freaking screams every time we drop him off.
I actually don't go to Foundry...yet. I am very active in MOPS, and my son goes to MDO there. I'm pretty sure we will try out the church after we get back from our vacation to visit family. It just makes sense because we are all comfortable there, I have heard the pastor speak and like him, I know a lot of members, etc. My older son does well in the nursery now, but it took a lot of time in MOPS for him to get comfortable. He used to cry every time.
Hopefully I'll run into you up there!
Rachel,
What subdivision do you live in? I'm in Blackhorse so we're super close. I am a SAHM, sort of... When I am working I am a birth doula and do birth related volunteer work. I have 2 boys, the oldest turns 14 today, my second just turned 7 last week and I have a daughter that is 5. Will your oldest be going to Smith in August? We're just heading out of that school and entering Cy-Ranch with 2 still going to Warner.
We moved from Florida in 2007, not quite 2 months before #3 was born because DH got a promotion at work. It was hard in the beginning to find friends because I don't necessarily "fit in" with the lifestyles that are typically found in this community. I have a few near me but between work and kids we don't get a chance to see each other much. Usually I am hanging out with other doula friends because it seems we only talk about birth in one form or another. What doctor are you going to and which hospital will you be delivering at???
