I suspect my LO has a mild allergy to sesame (he got hives after eating hummus with tahini, but no hives when he ate hummus w/out tahini). It's a fairly mild reaction though -- just a few red spots around his mouth and chin that go away after an hour. Does anyone else's LO have this? Do they also have other allergies? We haven't given kiddo any nuts yet, but I've read some articles that sesame and tree nut allergies often go hand in hand.
Re: Allergy to sesame?
my son recently outgrew his sesame allergy. He still has his milk/soy/egg/peanut allergy. I heard different stories about sesame. Some say it's the hardest allergy to get rid of and some say it's the easiest. We were lucky that he outgrew it and same as your LO, it was always a milk reaction so hopefully that's a good sign.
but as a precaution, i would avoid nuts until he gets tested.
