What exactly do they do at growth scans?

I have one right at 24 weeks and was just curious. Do they just measure the babies lengths or is it other body parts too like that anatomy scan? (Sorry if this is a stupid question!!) Just curious about what to expect!

    That is my understanding. I have a problem with my placenta that means I will need a growth scan ( not everyone has one). I was told that they check to see if the baby is the size it should be. If my LO is too small, they will induce me early/require a c/s due to that meaning my placenta is worse that they originally thought.

    The femur length, abdominal circumfrence and head circumfrence are measured and then it calculates an estimated fetal weight based on these.

    Thank you so much for asking this questions.  I start my monthly growth scans on 07/06 and I wasn't sure what they were going to do either.

    Thank you for asking this. I will be having growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks because of low platelets and wasn't sure what to expect either.
