Baby stuff

Is there a good place to donate baby stuff....bouncers, rockers, clothes, toys, etc?  The places I've seen online are very specific (like My Sisters House) on what they want.  Goal is to get it all out of the house and I don't want to piece-meal it.

The only place I can think of that will take it all is Good Will.  It is all in very good condition.

Re: Baby stuff

  • Not trying to discourage you from donating but are you sure you don't want to make some cash?  Just list it all as a lot on Craigslist for like $100 bucks with the stipulation that they have to take it all.  I guarantee you someone will come and get it... and then sell it off themselves :-)

  • The tax deductions would be higher though.  With a small biz, I'll take whatever write offs I can get. :)

I thought about CL but the stories I hear of weird people scare me.

  • We usually donate to Goodwill because it is right across from our house.  But the International Rescue Committee is also a good place to donate things.  The only problem with them is that they have weird hours.  It's an amazing place, though.
  • We take all our stuff at Goodwill at Peachtree Industrial Blvd. I love that they walk up to your car, so you don't have to get the kids out of their carseats.

I'm sure many day care centers would accept it.  I've taken in stuff to the Elaine Clark Center (https://www.elaineclarkcenter.org/) and the Atlanta Children's Center (https://www.atlantachildrensshelter.com/) before.  There are also a couple of homes in the Atlanta area that foster medically fragile or abandoned infants.  I can try and find the names of those places if you're interested.

  • Definitely check out the Atlanta Children's Shelter. They are such a wonderful organization and would be so grateful. They would be able to use the items right away vs selling it for money for something totally un-kid related - like Goodwill and Salvation Army. I have volunteered here and it is so rewarding!

  • Yes try a daycare center, a church or a mother's morning out program. I am sure all would be thrilled to take those items off your hands. We always donate to my daycare and the funny thing is the kids end up playing with it more there than they ever did at home.
  • a friend of mine is having a yard sale to raise money for her 3 day breast cancer walk- she does it every year- and would love to have the items, i'm sure.
