Hi There from first tri (currently 10 weeks). I just did the intelligender test and it says I am having a Boy! Ha! Has anyone else tried this silly test? If so were your results accurate? I bought it just for fun (their was a coupon on their website and free shipping) It says their boy results are slightly less accurate than their girl results. I wonder why that is, anyone know?? Anyway, it was fun to do (I also did the chinese predictor test which also said boy) I will probably have a girl now for sure!! lol! I am excited because I already have 2 step daughters and I think my hubby naturally wants a little boy and his family is hoping for one too. I dont care either way - just want a healthy baby - if i get a girl I get to buy her bling and girly stuff so whatever is a blessing. Well, let me know if you have tried and gotten an accurate result from this pregnancy or any past pregnancies (i hear their is a 80 percent accuracy rate) And don't worry I'm not painting the nursery yet - just curious!!!
Re: Intelligender Result
They have two studies on their side that do claim >80% accuracy. But there are also a lot of fine print things sprinkled on their site that I don't think people would notice, which is maybe why there are so many mistakes in practice. Things like, it doesn't work if you don't use fmu (in one of the studies they divided the women into fmu and non-fmu groups, and the non-fmu group was only accurate 50% of the time while the fmu group was >80%), or if you had sex within the last 48hrs there is a high incidence of false Boy results.
DH really wanted to try it so we did, we will see next week if it was right
There are probably 100 posts just in the last week on this intelligender test. THEY DO NOT WORK. There is NOTHING in your urine that can indicate whether you're carrying a girl or boy. That test is LITERALLY throwing $40 down the toilet.
Pee on a quarter an flip it. Heads--girl. Tails--boy. You'd have a better shot at this being accurate than the intelligender test which is notorious for giving boy results.
Maybe I should pop over to the 1st tri board and offer my services---I only charge $10 for a guess!
Chances with those dumb tests and any OWT are going to be 50/50, so I have just as good of a chance as being right as them--and I'm cheaper!
Like pp said, there is NOTHING in your urine that can detect the sex of the baby. If there was, don't you think Dr's offices would offer this service since you already pee in a cup every time you go? They'd make a fortune!
Ha!
My God, this is posted on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tri boards. GOOD GRIEF. I'm losing my patience with Intelligender posts.
I"m also hormonal...hahaha.
HAHAHAHA!
OP- I haven't tried it but I'm saving money for diapers and coffee (sleepless nights on the horizon) by the truckload. I really think you have a 50/50 shot either way and while the test is fun, I wouldn't at all place my bets (or my money) on one.
I am glad you had fun with the test though, but don't get too fixated on it if you can help it.
Geez cut the girl a break she did it for fun!! People can do what they want with their money. I tihnk it's a fun harmless test to try that more or less just shows the excitement that parents are having in those first few weeks they find out they are pregnant. So they do this fun test....just like people do all the other wives tale tests. Only difference is...you have to spend money which is a PERSONAL choice.
I know some people woh have 3 and 4 kids who did that test every time and it happened to guess right. Just like the Chinese Gender Predictor is right for some people. Other people none of it was ever right.
Best of luck to you and your husband on your little boy/girl.

No one said she couldn't throw her money down the toilet if that's her choice. But to get on here and post on three different boards wondering if the results are accurate, and asking questions about it, she's going to get responses. ESPECIALLY regarding something that is a pure hoax that she mentions may be 85% accurate. This thing is discussed at length 100 times a week. And there's NO scientific basis to it whatsoever. So more power to anyone who likes to waste money. But when you come on here and ask for opinions, etc, it's not going to be all puppies and rainbows in the responses...if you're looking for honesty.
Geez, cut the girl some slack... she said it was for fun!
We did it for fun as it was bought as gag gifts for us. It said BOY both times... We're having a little GIRL! Sorry! Its like the DR says... "you got a 50/50 chance". Hahaa!
Hilarious.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
we did it! i know a lot of people are against it because "its a waste of money" but to me it was just for the fun of the experience. i was totally excited about doing it with my mom and bff and totally worth the $40 "down the toliet" LOL!
Anyway, it said boy for us and our a/s a couple of weeks ago said boy!
I'm glad someone finally defended themselves. I'm tired of reading the attitude filled responses myself. I've already gotten into it with one girl who jumped someone's S*$# over something for no good reason. I too thought this website was meant for support, but when I read some of the responses I'm not so sure.
Comments WERE constructive. People informed you that you wasted your money and that the test will be right 50% of the time. You were also informed that nothing in urine can tell you the sex of the baby. All constructive.
I wasn't referring to those comments - i did think anyone who gave an opinion about the accuracy of the test or even made funny jokes about it being a scam were totally well meaning and constructive - I was only hurt by the ones who took it too far and were just trying to be mean at my expense- very immature...
ha ha, was that me? oh well, too bad. if you don't like it here, the Bump isn't mandatory...you can leave! the bump is NOT meant for support, that is what your (hopefully) real life friends/family are for. why would you expect support from strangers?
LOL - What is it meant for then? I guess for you it's a place where you can go to make fun of others without having to show your face just so you can feel better about yourself. Grow up!
I am not sure why people get so offended. Why not just laugh at yourself or well not respond?
Anyway, for the 800000th time. If a message board does not say "support" in the title than it is not for support. It is for entertainment.
i'm not making fun of anyone, you're the one who insulted me w/ "grow up"! and telling me i make fun of others for fun! the Bump is a message board, to get advice , vent ...whatever. if you can't handle honest responses from people than you probably shouldn't post at all.
