We have been using pre-folds since DD was born and have never had a problem. In the last few days they have been leaking on the sides. I thought that maybe she needed to be moved up to the next size. So I prepped those diapers and started using those and still have the same problem. My DD just started really moving, she's not quite crawling yet, but started pushing herself backward, rolling a lot more, going from tummy to sitting, etc. So now I'm wondering if it's a result of her moving about. I use the tri-fold, is there another fold you would recommend? Should I start using snappies again? TIA!
Re: Prefold Question
Hmm, are you using covers with leg gussets?? Or maybe they are delaminating if they are PUL??
You can try using a snappi again to see if that helps, or try a doubler of some sort.
Sorry I am not much help : (
Yes, the covers have leg gussets. The covers are fairly new, maybe a couple of weeks old.
It's weird because the diaper wasn't even fully soaked which is leading me to believe that it's a problem with the positioning or something. To be honest I know very little about cloth diapers, I had to google 'leg gussets'! Hmmm I guess I will have to experiment a little, thanks!

Could they possibly be repelling? Maybe from using non-CD safe diaper cream or laundry detergent build-up??
You can try to see how fast they absorb water by dropping a little on the prefold. If it rolls off, you may need to strip them with blue dawn (dish soap) and that shoud take care of it.
Keep us posted and let us know if you may need any more help or info
Friday was the first time her diaper leaked from pee (she was in the jumperoo at the time) and so I thought maybe it was time to move her up to the larger sized pre-fold. I followed the directions to prep them and started using them on Saturday. We had one leak today and the diaper wasn't even fully saturated, it just seemed to leak out the side.
That's a good tip about checking the absorbency though, I will try that. Thanks I will appreciate your responses!
