Who's still in maternity clothes?

I've lost quite a bit of the pregnancy weight, but my body has totally changed shape and hardly anything pre-pregnancy fits anymore. Pants - forget it, my hips are much wider. Shirts - maybe, but these boobs! My maternity pants are all that work until I can go shoppin and pick up some new stuffg. What about you?

Re: Who's still in maternity clothes?

  • I am. I am actually quite a bit smaller then I was pre-pregnancy, but my body shape is so funny right now that maternity clothes seem to work better still since all my old pants are way to big and my shirts are way to small in the boobs, plus the high belly part on the maternity bottoms are still more comfortable on my c-section. I am hoping to go shopping from some new clothes soon though!

  • I've still been wearing my low rise maternity jeans that don't have a panel. I honestly don't know if my regular pants will fit or not- I haven't even tried yet. I gained 40lbs and still have almost 20 to lose to be at pre-pg weight, so I doubt they will fit. As for shirts, I've mostly  been wearing maternity tanks, I have been able to wear a few of my pre-pg shirts and have bought some new easy access shirts. Yesterday, I could have bought some new pants, but really wasn't in the mood to try on anything.

  • I am still in my maternity clothes except for a select few pairs of shorts that were big on me pre-preg. My hips were really wide to start out but are even wider now, I don't know if I will ever find a pair of pants that fit right!

  • I have been wearing some loose fitting shirts, but I don't have summer maternity pants, so it's been a lot of sweats and drawstring shorts that don't bother my incision.

:putting on flame-resistant suit:  I have lost at least 25 lbs. since giving birth. I never gained any weight pregnant, (thank you daily vomit fest) BUT like some pp wrote, my shape has changed, yet again, so whereas things should totally fit, my stomach is still flabby and if things are too tight, my C-section incision hurts.

  • I'm not in maternity clothes anymore but I'm not in all my clothes yet either. I still can't button all of my pants and some of my tops look too small with these boobs. I've lost almost all the 35 lbs I gained minus 9 pounds but my stomach is still flabby. I can't wait for it to be flat again.

  • woop woop, me. I'm not too excited about it. I spent $100 on dresses at target and I'll wear those until my Jillian Michael's DVDs start working. With dresses I just buy one garment. If I had to get shorts/shirt, I need another item to go with it, thus spending twice as much.
  • I am still wearing my maternity shorts because the band is comfortable with my c/s incision.

I gained about 45lbs total and have already lost 30 in the past 2 weeks! Woot!

  • I was a size 0 pre-pregnancy, and I've pretty much given up on ever fitting into some of my pants/shorts.  I got rid of my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans during pregnancy so that I wouldn't feel pressured to get back to that size again!  I honestly haven't tried any of them yet; my elastic-band maternity jeans are just way too comfortable.

  • Will my hips be this wide forever?!

  • I'm down 10lbs from my prepreg weight, and the pants fit- but the maternity pants with the lowrise elastic is just so much more comfortable. Mostly though, it's just too hot for pants in general.

It's been so hot out that I've been in mostly dresses though.  Although some are out b/c I look like a pornstar in a few of them.

  • Ugh ...y'all aren't giving me much hope of getting back into my pp pants and skirts! I'm wearing the pp shirts that my boobs fit into and one pair of pp jeans. I keep trying on the other pants, just hoping that I need to lose a little more weight and that it isn't that my hips spread!

  • I still wear my pants even though I can fit into my prepregs....I just think these are the best thing in the world. So comfy!
  • I'm still wearing exclusively maternity clothes but that's mainly because I packed up any non-maternity clothes when we ripped out our closet during remodeling and they're all still in boxes in the storage pod in the driveway.  I haven't been too motivated to go dig them out because I think it's doubtful I'll fit in any pants.  But the stupid maternity pants will NOT stay up, so tomorrow may be the day.

I really don't want to buy new pants on top of the expensive nursing bras and tanks and god knows what else, but I have a feeling I will have to.  I was at my highest weight when I got pregnant and my pants barely fit then.

  • Ugh.  I still have about 19 pounds to lose to be pp weight.  That, plus my new boobs, I fit into almost nothing I own.  Plus, its getting warmer here, and I don't have any summer mat clothes.  I fit a few tanks, and I actually went out to buy a new pair of shorts to tide myself over, and I ended up with mat shorts.... ugh.

I know it takes time... but so depressing.

This. Except I bought normal shorts in unspeakable sizes. :( My boobs are embarrassingly huge so maternity tops are the only things that fit ok. I don't know what I'm going to do when I go back to work.
