Switching Formula Brands ?

DS is on soy formula. Right now we use Enfamil but in my area, Similac can be found EVERYWHERE and not so much the Enfamil. Is switching brands a big deal or does it depend on DS's tastebuds?

 Thanks!

  • Oooh I'm glad you asked this... I don't have an answer, but Similac Sensitive is cheaper than the Enfamil Gentlease and I was curious about how the brand switch worked.

But, if you need to stay on Enfamil, check out Diapers.com.  I just ordered LO's Gentlease from there and got a really great deal.  They also have free shipping (and when you are buying RTF, it can cost a fortune to ship all that weight) and free returns for a year!

  • I don't know the difference specifically, but it is ok to try and switch.  If you switch, then stick with whatever works-it is frequent changing that can mess with them.

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

  • I switched my LO from Gerber to Similac and had no problems with the switch at all.  I ran out of the gerber and went right into the similac and she had no problems what so ever.  She made a funny face with the first bottle but after about 2 seconds went right to town and finished the whole thing.  She doesn't have a sensitive stomach or reflux so I don't know if it might be a little different.
