a daycare story

Payton is currently the "baby" at daycare.  The next oldest is a little over 2yrs and was the baby of the house before Payton arrived.  Ever since day one, Sheridan (the 2yr old) has told everybody that she "wants to bite Payton".  lol  Can you say jealousy much?

Anyway, yesterday we picked her up from daycare and noticed a small bruise underneath her eye.  She's always had a little discoloration in the same spot (it's also somewhat of a dimple) because of the trauma coming through the birth canal, so we didn't really think much of it.  However this morning I asked our daycare provider about it and she said Sheridan pushed her into the door!  Oh my.  I guess the other moms who were there at the time yelled at Sheridan and she felt really bad, walking around the rest of the day repeating "I must be nice to Payton."  I kind of feel bad for Sheridan because she is just wanting attention.

But it makes me think about what Payton is going to do to our Little Man once he arrives in February... *sigh*  I'm more anxious about their relationship than I am about having 2 under 2yrs!!

"I must be nice to Payton"....omg is it bad that I have the mad giggles from that line?  Maybe you can teach Payton the line....I must be nice to brother!  In all seriousness I hope little P is okay and that Sheridan aka the bully does not go too far!!!

Oh no! Maybe you can get the two girls together for a playdate outside of daycare. Have the other mom come and see how they interact. It might be good for Sheridan to know that Payton is a friend and not a threat. It sounds like she it being territorial. I think you are right on about Sheridan needing attention. It's hard when some new cute girl comes in and takes the attention away! Or Miss. P can bring Kiah to daycare for a day and Kiah will protect her!

Oh no!  Yeah the whole 2 year old thing is tough.  My bf's little boy (just turned 2) is constantly pushing cruz down or the other day purposely pushed a toy off a couch into Cruz's head as he walked by.  Yes my bf did a time out talked to him about it but at 2 they just don't understand their feelings yet.  Your gonna have your hands full for sure but the good news is that little boys seem to be pretty tough so maybe he will learn to push back early!

that is funny.  She was chanting her mantra for the day!

Audrey too has always been the baby.  Now there are 2 other little babies there and she doesn't mind them, but another little girl a few months older than Audrey started and from day 1 it was like "Who is THAT?"

But Audrey is quite the bully at daycare.  Well, actualy she holds her own.  They say she can take down any of the older kids and she is not afraid of them.  I saw it myslef last night when my almost 4 year old nephew was playing with her..... she pushed him out of the way to get to what she wanted!  BULLY!
