fresh organic strawberries ok for 8 mos old?

I was wondering if i could give them some chopped up small. I know they are on the high allergin list though, so should i wait until a year? My RE said anything but PNB and honey. Thanks!

Because strawberries are a high allergin food, I'd hold off.  Our pedi told us to stay away from things like that(PB, shellfish, strawberries/citrus, etc.) till after a year - this was before we knew he had such severe allergies.

With DD, we waited until a year and will do the same for DS.

A lot of people do not wait, but we definitely did as recommended by my father who is a doc and our pediatrician.  That said, I think I know only 1 person who is allergic to strawberries (unlike other allergens).

I held off because we already were dealing with a bunch of allergies. I had her tested back in march and sure enough, she's allergic. Pook kid. DH and I LOVE strawberries.
