PP Bleeding or Period (TMI)?

I'm going to ask my midwife is on thursday at our next appointment but I am really confused. I bled for the first 12 days or so PP then it became like a thin dark brown discharge instead for another 5 days or so, and now I have bleeding for the last 3-4 days again and cramping that reminds me of my period.

I am EBF and he is constantly eating (every 1-2 hours during the day and every 2 hours at night with one 3-4 hour sleep) is it possible that this is my period already? Is there anyway I would know for sure before next month? I'm so disappointed- I have always had terrible periods and I was looking forward to at least a couple more months without it.

It's unlikely that it's your period.

I'm also EBF and had irregular bleeding after birth. I bled for two weeks, it stopped, then started again and was on and off for another week.
