February 2011 Moms

I wasn't ready for this yet!

I just put DD down for the night in her crib...in her room...for the first time.  She's taken naps there before but never slept the whole night in there!  My plan was always to keep her in the co-sleeper in our room until 6 months but she's too big for it (it's the Arms Reach Mini Co-Sleeper).  She's been rolling over for a few wks but now she's started rolling over while sleeping so the co-sleeper is just too small.  I'm sad to go to sleep without her next to me tonight and I'm nervous neither of us will get much sleep (DH will sleep like a rock, on the other hand).

  • I'm the same way.  This poor girls is going to have to sleep in her RnP until she heads to college.  The plan is to put her in the crib tonight for good. She's done it here and there, but I just need to go cold turkey.  I love being able to hear her in our room.  This is all completely irrational of me though because her crib is probably less than 25 feet away from our bedroom.

  • You'll be ok!  We used to bed-share, but we moved Auds 3 weeks ago to her crib in her own room, and it's been nice.  I do miss her being next to me all night, but I sleep better and so does she.

Now we're working on putting her to sleep in the crib without her being completely asleep.  She's rolling around in there and fussing a little right now...please go to sleep baby.  Mommy needs a glass of wine.

  • We're doing the same...or at least trying to. We usually co sleep for part of the night.

  • I'm keeping the co-sleeper in my room for at least the next little while in case she starts waking up at night and I want to move her back in.  Also I just went in to check on her and her feet are sticking through the rungs on the crib, which the nanny warned me has been happening when she naps.  Guess I have to get breathable bumpers -- ugh, they're so ugly but I don't want her sleeping with her legs hanging out of the crib!

We haven't made the transition yet. I know full well that it will be 100% harder on me than for her. She probably won't even notice!

  • We moved DS at 8 weeks because he started sleeping lighter so he would wake up a lot even whispering to eachother. It was super hard on me at first but after the first few days I was glad to have our bedroom back. Since DH and I have separate schedules that is our place to reconnect everyday.

Haha, this is us, too.  She's still in the co-sleeper.  I've tried having her sleep in her crib a few times and she's completely fine with it, but I always end up going to get her because I miss her!
