Still not rolling over at (almost) 5 months

Lila seems to be developing on track, both physically and mentally, except for this one thing.  I'm not sure if she's "behind" or not, but I know that Ava and Charlotte were both rolling over both ways and sitting up at 4-5 months.  She gets plenty of playtime on the floor, and will get on her side but will not use her arms to push herself all the way over.  I wasn't too concerned about this until we started putting her in the exersaucer and noticed that if her trunk goes forward in the seat, she will not use her arms to push herself around there either.  She does however reach for things and pick them up if she is already in a position to do so.  She seems to have good head/neck control and she is putting weight on her legs, so I think she has good strength.  I will say that she has a much more laid back personality than both of her sisters, so that could be part of it too.  I'm going to ask her pedi about it at her well check coming up, but wondering if there is anything else I can do to help her with this, other than playing on the floor.

Re: Still not rolling over at (almost) 5 months

  • DD was 7 1/ 2 months when she finally rolled over.  Then in a span of 2 1/2 months went from rolling to pulling up and cruising to walking.  We tried everything to get DD to roll and she would almost get there and then roll back to wherever she started.

  • I'm not too concerned Serena is exactly the same right now.  She can go from belly to back but not all the way from back to belly, stuck at the side.  She also sits with her arms stuck in front of her in the exersaucer but she can push up really well off her belly in a lying position.  By the now both boys were sitting and rolling too.

  • DS didn't roll over until 5 almost 6 months. He proceeded to roll over front to back and back to front in the same week, then he was crawling everywhere a couple months after that. It will happen in her own time. :)

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

  • Our LOs are a day a part and Cameron just finally did this on his own today...about a month later than Alex did.
