1st birthday party

I need some ideas for places to have my son's 1st bday party.  I plan on having between 30-40 people (mostly family and mostly adults).  My house is way too small to have that many people and then to have little ones crawling/walking just would not be a good place.  I am battling with the Oklahoma heat as one of the challenges, as my son's birthday is late August and I'm not sure about having it outside would be the best choice.  I am also on a budget, as I am a single mom.

Do you belong to a local church? We had DS's 1st birthday at MIL's church in their rec room. It was free, indoors and large enough to hold a lot of people.
