iPhone users

Is there an easier way to get pictures off your phone other than emailing them to yourself individually? I'm still a relatively new iPhone user, and thus far I've just been emailing myself photos at the end of the day. But I took a ton on my phone today and really don't want to sit there and email each photo to myself.

I tried syncing my phone with iTunes, but I can't figure out how to access them from there.

Re: iPhone users

  • When I hook up my phone to my computer, a box automatically pops up and asks what I want to do with my pictures (save, download, etc.).  If this doesn't happen here's what I would do.

    Plug in the phone.

Go to my computer  (or whatever it is that let's you open files, mine is called libraries.)

Then, scroll down until you see your phone (maybe something like removable disc)

Then, choose the ones you want to download.

I feel like I'm not describing this very well.  What I'm trying to say is that if you have your phone plugged in to the computer, I think you can get to your pictures just like you were using a flash drive.

  • I forget -- Mac or PC?

When I used a PC, I just plugged the phone into my computer and pulled the pictures off the phone directly (the phone would pop up as a new drive).

On the Mac, you can get them using Image Capture or iPhoto.

  • Awesome, thanks! I will try that! I was trying to do it all through iTunes - not sure why I didn't think to open it like a flash drive.
  • DH set up dropbox on my phone so I put them into a folder he made called "print please" and then he prints them out for me.  I guess the dropbox wirelessly syncs with our computers?  I have no idea how how he went about setting that up though.

Yeah, I most definitely am not that iPhone savvy ;)

Thank you guys - got them all off! So much easier than emailing!

  • Do you use Lightroom for photo work? When I open LR and my phone is plugged in it will read it as a drive and ask me to import pictures. I actually have a catalog just for my iphone pics.

Really?! That would be awesome! I was on a computer that didn't have it loaded, but I'll have to try it on my desktop tonight. Thanks!

  • Pretty soon it'll be even easier:
