Worried about the glucose test. Does anyone know if that sugary orange drink has gluten in it? Does anyone know who makes it so I can email the manufacterer? I am worried.
I don't know where you're having your test done, but I had mine at a local blood lab. I would just call them and ask what the drink is because you have food allergies (people seem to understand better when you say "allergy" even if it's really not).

I agree on the allergy part. I tell people food allergies because it's easier than explaining Celiac. Thank you for the suggestion. I don't have to take it yet, but I want to be prepared. When I find out which blood lab, I will call them, thank you!
Your OB might have that info for you also. I would ask her at your next visit. Express your concern, she'll probably be able to help you. I had GD during my pregnancy. It was not fun. I hope you are able to avoid it!!
i have it right in front of me b/c i have to take it on the next visit, but it's red for some reason. my first pregnancy i had the orange one. i think it's just a different flavor.
it says: Contains water, dextrose (d-glucose; source: corn) citric acid, sodium benzoate, gum arabic, natural & artificial flavors, glyceryl abietate, brominated vegetables, oil and red no 4)
hope i spelled it right. i have barely any lights on right now.
The one i have is by easydeX 50.. But the first time i took it it was by a different vendor so i would just call your doc and ask for the info. if you can't have it, i think they will just tell you to use water and a certain amount of sugar. there are ways of making it yourself.
Trutol 50 (really common brand of oral glucose liquid) is gluten free. Finding the ingredients to these products, in my experience, is harder than discovering the lost city of Atlantis. Calling Quest Diagnostics directly eventually provided a comprehensive ingredient list. Best of luck.
