How and where are the cameras mounted? We're talking about getting some, now that the cribs have been lowered and the babies can see over the bumpers in the crib. Do you mount them on the crib? On the wall? Is there a power cord that dangles from the camera? Fill me in on how these things work - pics if you have them! TIA!
Re: Those with video monitors
We have ours sitting on a shelf overlooking the cribs but will likely mount it on the wall soon. there is a power cord that hangs from the video monitor but they cant get to it.
Ours pans and zooms and can have added monitors, it is the Summar Infant best from target
We have 2 monitors and 2 cameras. I will take a pic later today and post. Each crib is on a different wall and the corner that separates it, we have a small mirrored armoire. The cameras are on top of the armoire pointed to each crib. The outlet is near the floor behind each crib. I have the wire secured down to the floor and then along the floor to up behind the armoire. Don't mount it on the crib itself. I saw something months ago on the Today show that a baby strangled and died from the cord...so sad.
Also I was going to just get an extra camera and have just one monitor and switch the channels from a to b. A friend of mine said to get another set and that's what we did and I recommend that!
We have the Summer Infant Best Handheld and in our old place, I just tacked it (literally with a simple thumb tack--the camera is super light!) against the wall between their cribs. They couldn't get to the cord.
In our new house, their cribs on opposite walls so I just put the camera on a high dresser top and it scans both cribs from where it's angled. The cord hangs in back of the furniture so they cannot get to it.
