It's Ladywalton post day.
Ok, so a new phenomenon is that C beats my chest when he is nursing. It's predominantly when he nurses on my right side and his right arm is free (not tucked under his body). He repeatedly smacks my chest/shoulder/arm over and over. Unless I am holding his hand to my chest, he is doing this. Is this common? I orignially thought it was just that his arm was flailing, but he consistently makes contact.
Re: He beats me.
yes, and it's annoying and it hurts!
in addition to the fists and hands hitting me, DS likes to kick-box the boob he is not nursing from, ouch!
I'm pretty glad to be weaning
H does this all the time. The worst is when she does it with her nails down and scratches the hell out of my chest. I also get a lot of pinching of boob with the free hand.
Little demons. Good thing they're so cute!
This is a good idea! Target/Walmart, here I come!
J does it, too. He also likes to pinch my nipple when he has stopped eating, before I cover up again. And he inevitably manages to kick right on my incision scar.Oh, and he has learned how to pinch my arm flab when I am changing his diaper. It hurts, especially when his nails are long.
Good thing he's cute!
They make things specifically called "nursing necklaces" so you wouldn't even have to worry about a weak strand or anything like that. I bet Etsy has a ton of them.
DD would use her nails to rake against my ribcage...it both tickled and hurt. I had to awkwardly pin her arm the entire time I was feeding her. DS was more of a puncher like yours.
my son was the most adorable, loveable, snuggly baby during breastfeeding.
my daughter vies for hellion of the year. she is much better now, at nearly 9 months, but around C's age, she hit, scratched, pulled my necklace (i always wear it), tried to stick her fingers in her mouth while nursing, pulled my hair (still does this) and would suck hard and then pull her mouth away (this was a game). oh, how could i forget my favorite, pinching!! i used to have tiny little bruises on my ribs from where she'd pinch me with the arm that was tucked.
even though we no longer swaddled regularly, i would often swaddle her for nursing. if her arm got loose, i'd hold it tightly to her body. this made for an ordeal during nighttime feedings, but fortunately, she grew out of it. wish i could remember when...maybe around 6 months?
ETA: and the kicking, she kicks. usually during the day, but sometimes at night too.
