Today Show :(

I have been watching the Today show when possible since summer of 2001.  I worked as a waitress, the cook and I would watch it because he had a thing for Katie C. 

Present day, I would turn it on in the morning before my students came in and I was getting ready/working.

BUT I HATE ANN CURRY!!!!!!  Can't stand her so my morning routine is now thrown off.  I tried to watch the other networks this morning but didn't really like them either....

Just wanted to vent that I hate the choice they made to replace Merridith.  I'm not the only one because I just said something to a coworker and they agreed with me.

why the Ann hate? I don't get it, she was on the show so much already, I don't really feel like it's that big of a deal for her to be the co-anchor. I also liked Meredith but I don't understand the anti-Ann sentiment (I saw it on other sites as well).

I don't HATE Ann, but I've never really liked her either.  I think she comes across very shallow/ditzy, especially when reporting on a very serious topic.  On the other hand, there is no way I could do her job (or would want her job) so I guess I admire anyone who gets on TV every single day and has to not screw up.  I guess that makes me feel neutral about her.

Ann Curry is one of the reasons that I don't watch the Today Show anymore (granted our tv gets turned on about 3 times a week and never in the morning). 

But I used to LOVE the Today show...watched it every single day in college and after college until maybe 3-4 years ago. I just find Ann painful to watch on tv. When she was just doing the news, it was bearable, but watching her interview people is just effing awful. I'm sure she's extremely intelligent IRL, but she comes across as a vapid, ditz on tv.

I agree, I don't love her.  Ann's awkward and never seems to get her words right.  She's supposedly the nicest person on the show, but I don't think she has a great presence.  Natalie's my fav

I find Ann cloying and overly dramatic...she's a scenery chewer and it is painful (although sometime amusing) to watch.

Having met Ann Curry a few years ago when I was working an event with her, in person she is very nice and seems really genuine. I hate her interview style though. She's OK when she's doing the news, but I don't see her as a good replacement for Meredith because watching her do an interview is so painful.
