Prep. for IVF - pap smear?

We are preparing for our first IVF cycle (probably July/August), and it struck me this morning that I haven't seen my GYN for an annual in over a year. I think I read in one of my IF books about a clinic requiring a pap smear within a year of IVF cycle. Was this the case for you?

I realize I need to ask my own clinic, but my nurse isn't in today, so I figured I'd ask here. Thanks!

TTC #1 since June 2010
Me: 36, DH: 42
Dx: DOR and MFI

DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    Yep, I had mine last week.  It is on our required list of pre-IVF tests, along with a bunch of other stuff.  I would definitely see if you can get a list of all of the requirements sooner rather than later, because it took me a few weeks to get everything taken care of.

    Me = LPD + cancer survivor, DH = low count and morphology
    IUIs #1-5, January 2011 - June 2011 = BFN
    IVF #1 in July/August 2011 = BFP!!!!!

    Yes, also cervical cultures including bacteria, which you have to ask for as it's not a normal GYN test. Or your RE can do them.

    DH - some MFI;

    1 month clomid plus timing - BFN;
    3 months clomid + IUI - BFN BFN BFN

    IVF #1 Nov/Dec 2009 - BFP - c/p;
    IVF #2.1 Jan 2011 - Converted to IUI - BFN;
    IVF #2.2 March/April 2011 - ER 3/23/11: 12 retrieved, 8 mature, 3 fert-ET 3dt 3/26/11: 3 embies - BFN;
    IVF #3 May 2011 - ER 5/19/11: 20 retrieved, 10 mature, 9 fert-ET 5dt 5/24/11 3 embies - BFN;
    Switched RE's for IVF #4 (CCRM) Oct 2011 - Surprise BFP before starting IVF #4!

    I had one at my regular OB and my RE wanted to do their own also, so I had two paps two weeks apart.

    Just had my sono ultrasound yesterday and HSG is today by the way :) Sono went well so hopefully the same goes for the HSG.

    Yes, I had to have a Pap done before I could start IVF cause it had been a little over a year.

    I asked my RE if I should have one done (since I was over a year) and he said yes, but he's never asked me if I did and it wasn't a requirement.  When I called my OB's office she said just to wait until I was pregnant (hahaha!).  I still haven't had one done.  I tried to get in a couple weeks ago before I started this cycle and no dice.  I'm not really comfortable having one done during stims so I'll just wait it out now.

    Thanks everyone. I wish my RE had given us more information on things we could be getting done during this wait...

    Interesting, KaliChick. I also wonder how strict my clinic is about this requirement since they seem to forget a lot of details, and I feel like it's always on us to follow up with them. Anyway, my OBGYN can't see me until Sept. (ridiculous) so I'm hoping the GP I'm seeing tomorrow to follow up on other bloodwork issues will just do it tomorrow.

    Your RE could do the pap smear too, if you happen to have an appointment coming up with him/her. I am due for mine and was going to have my RE do it during my WTF, but managed to get an appointment with my OBGYN for the following week.

    My clinic is really strict with that stuff. They wouldn't clear me for any kind of treatment until they had everything.

    I was thinking this EXACT thing. I started IVF #1 in April and my yearly checkup would of been done in May. Well I got my BFN and started immediately with IVF #2 so I am past a year but my RE has never asked and I guess I will just wait till July when I get my Beta results and then go then. Maybe it is like an oil change you dont really have to go right at 3,000 miles ;) and I am just being silly

    IUI #4 cancelled due to only one egg responding 
    IUI#5 cancelled on CD 10,  (3) follicules were still very small even on 300 IU's of Follistim. Also found fluid in my uterus from C-section scar
