No. I assume the charge is for "shipping and handling" - which means postage, packaging, the label, the ink on the label, and all the other stuffs it takes to get it into the mail to me.
Not at all unless the listing specified you would only be charged "actual shipping." Many retailers build profit into shipping (or their shipping covers other costs like packaging and additional labor) and I don't have a problem with that.

And really, most places have minimum shipping charges or shipping based on the amount of money spent, not what it actually costs to ship. I could order one pair of baby socks from the Gap and would be charged $7, which is obviously more than it costs to mail.
i was just surprised that it was over double what it actually cost to mail it. never seen that before. guess i'm just used to free shipping from a lot of sites. i had to order from her because there was a gen-y cover print that was out of stock everywhere else.
i will be sending her back her money. she just refunded it without me asking but now i am not comfortable with it.
FWIW - I used to balk when I was "overcharged" on shipping costs on stuff I bought on Ebay... until I started selling some stuff and realized I had to pay for the shipping supplies as well as get it into the mail somehow. (Even if you ship via paypay you still have to buy a scale to weigh the items on.) So your gut reaction is totally normal.

This is what makes me mad! I can understand WAHMs up-charging for shipping because it does add work to their load, but big box stores? No excuse for that IMO.
I thought you meant they charged you double what you had already paid! Whoops! I still think though, that some companies overcharge. I ordered some polymailers the other day (not that many) and the shipping charge was over $6! Ridiculous!

Re: would it bother you
good. i was worried i was being a "B" when i emailed her about it. she refunded the shipping charge and i was starting to feel bad.
not sure if i want to say who when she was willing to refund the charge.

Ok, maybe with the things the PPs mentioned, it wouldn't bother me as much...although you did say it was a manila envelope.
