Tell me about the positive thinking thing. DH confessed last night that he's getting scared for his health and wants to quit. He's tried all the gum, patches, Wellbutrin, Chantix, etc and none of them have stuck.
Right now we're looking into hypnotherapy, but I'm sure he'll be open to anything.
Re: ***EK***
I just posted in the other thread, but nothing will really help him until he's truly ready. For 12 years my DH has NOT been ready. All of a sudden, he was ready.
Your DH has to prepare himself for it. Constantly talk to himself about why he doesn't want to smoke anymore. I spoke to myself out loud daily, many times a day. He has to retrain his brain. It's more retraining the brain than finding a new habit.
Also, I forgot to link this site in the other post. https://whyquit.com/
This site helped me realize that I was not going to crave a cigarette like I was on day two for the rest of my life. I seriously thought I was going to crave them constantly forever. Tell him to just read everything. This one specifically helped me the most.
Also, tell him to find ONE person to help keep him on track. Preferably not you. Someone he can call if he is about to buy one. GHM was that person for me and helped me so much!
Tell him I said Good luck!
