I'm seriously considering selling Pampered Chef. Has anyone here been a rep for them? If so, please share your experiences/advice! I'd like to bring in a little extra income for our family, and so far, it sounds pretty good, but I've only talked to one person about it. I just wonder if the money you make is worth the time and effort you put into it.
TIA!!
Re: Have you sold Pampered Chef? NBR
I have NOT sold it,but did just have a party at my house. The total sales for my party was $800 (which I think is pretty good). Anyways, I received a letter from my consultant saying that if I had been the consultant at the party I would have earned $167.89 of income.
IMO - it's not worth the work! The consultant was at my house for 4 hours. Additionally she had to bring all the stuff to cook with (gadgets not food) and she took everything home dirty - so she still had to wash it. Then there was the prep time before she came over, the time she spent processing my order.
Good luck!
You have got to be kidding me!! That amount of money, is NOT worth it!! Thanks for the response!!
I currently sell PC and I think it's totally worth it. However, I'm not sure why a party would EVER need to take even 3 hours let alone 4! I get to parties 1/2 hour before they start and set up. I do one recipe that the guests help with, while it's cooking I do the rest of the demo (this takes 45 minutes to an hour tops) Then while they're eating and socializing I gather orders and pack up and get the heck outta there. I also take my computer with me so all orders are entered there, but the software is so easy to use that it only takes 15 minutes to add even my largest order if I don't take my laptop with me. She actually made $176 (there was a bonus for passing 750 in the month (also bonuses at 1250, 2500, 4000. At 4 hours of work that's $44 an hour... what kind of work are you doing that that seems like a bad hourly rate?? Assuming it took her an hour to enter the party and wash the dishes that's STILL $35.20/hour. You can do PC when you want to, and how you want to. In my house I bring the dirties home in a plastic dish bin and they go straight into the dishwasher. It takes 10 minutes since excpet my stone and knives everything I use at a show is dishwasher safe. Takes another 2 minutes to wash my stone and about 25 seconds to clean the knives
I do know consultants who ask their hosts if they would wash the dishes up for them while they gather the guests orders.
I ONLY take products that I'm going to use and/or the host has requested to see, so I carry in a paperwork bag w/ my laptop, my consultant kit bag w/ products, and my dish bin lined w/ a garbage bag. I used to take a ton more, but scaled back and my shows have been even better since I'm not taking about everything in the book
