Success after IF

DD is not eating

I think she's only had 2 ounces (max) since yesterday afternoon/ evening.  She'll act like she's hungry, take a few sips, then seal up.

She usually has 3 or so ounces every 3 hours.

She had her first round of shots yesterday.  Could it be related?

Either way - would you be concerned?  I know little ones have growth spurts/ times when they slow down . . . but if this keeps up much longer it will seem a little extreme to me.

Thanks!

Re: DD is not eating

  • Sam was out of whack after his two month shots too - not eating well, cranky etc.

However, if it continues for the rest of the day, I'd call the Dr.

Is she showing any other reactions?  Really tired? Fever?

    Nope, no other reactions.

I'm not going to push it as when I do other times she empties the entire contents of her stomach all over me ;)  But it is starting to make me wonder!

  • The biggest concern would be keeping her hydrated.  Is she still having wet diapers?   I would definitely call the pedi by this afternoon if she's still refusing.  They can certainly have days where they are less hungry, like taking half their normal amount, but your DD seems beyond that.  I bet its the shots, but I'd see if they have recommendations for keeping her hydrated.  Hope she feels better soon!

  • Ditto the others. We had a few instances when Toodle was an infant where it was SUCH a struggle to get him to eat. I think he was still at 6-8 oz. a day during those times though (albeit a much bigger baby, more like 6+ mos. if I recall). Each time,  it turned out he had a cold/ear infection. Good luck and hope that cutie gets her appetite back ASAP!
