Mine doesn't project stars, it projects images of a ballerina bear sleeping onto the ceiling. It's by Fisher-Price, and there is a 'boy' version of it out too.

This is my crib soother. 

I'm not sure which one projects stars... My twin bought a $10 night light that projects the solar system onto the ceiling, but it's a standing image and doesn't change like the crib soother's image does.
