DD HATES tummy time...

What should I do?!?!

I have tried it on soft surfaces like our bed, and my chest, I have tried getting her attention with toys, nothing is working. all she does is cry cry cry. I have almost given up on even trying, so she doesnt get as much tummy time as she should, but I am afraid it will delay some of her development of certain skills.

Am I hurting her by not making her do tummy time?

She can sit pretty good (assisted) and has great head control

DD's hated TT too, but I've got a whole 5 minutes of no fussing today by having a shiny balloon that she already loves float above her making noises (its partially deflated from being so old).  It ended with her rolling onto her back on her own.  She CAN hold her head up extremely well if enticed, but hates being forced.  Her head control's great so I don't go for '20 minutes a day total' like most people seem to.  Just try maybe once or twice a day when she's in a good mood.

My DS hates tummy time too - he cries and gets so frustrated! Today I had better luck putting him on the daybed in his nursery, with me sitting right by his head (he was facing the edge). I was able to act goofy and entertain him for a little while before the rage took over and the crying began, lol. I like the balloon idea, tho!

This is what we do a lot!  Actually that's where she is in my siggy picture!  I kneel down and she loves being eye-level with me.

No. Babies learn what they need to in their own time. It's better that she gain strength in other ways.

This is what I try to do. X hate laying down (back or tummy) so I lay him on the couch for a few minutes (or until he starts complaining.) He loves to sit and stand up though, so he's got tons of neck and leg strength.
