DH and I are having a REALLY difficult time with names and both like Eva. We want a name that is not too popular, but will look professional on a resume later in life. Just wanted to see what your thoughts were.

Are you pronouncing it same as Ay-vuh or EE-vuh?
Think Ava is too popular (regardless of spelling) but Eva (pronounced with long e ) I love!
This. I really love Eva (long e pronunciation).
We would be pronouncing it "EE-vuh" (with the long E).
I am liking Eva Madelyn right now.We have a common last name so trying to avoid the super common full name.

are you pronouncing it eh-vah or ee-vah? i prefer the first one but it will probably be misspelled ava all the time.
eta: just saw that you said ee-vah. i think that if you have a hesitation about its popularity [top 100], you might consider eve instead. 91 is definitely too popular for me but that doesn't mean it is for you.
This. Also, I think that "Eve" would be a good choice. It also sounds professional to me.

Here we go again...IVF 3 is underway!
my DH and I are also considering Eva/Ava and we are torn on spelling. He prefers Eva, said Ava but I am worried that is not the correct way of saying it.
To me it would be Eva- long E sound. (nickname Evie, Eve)
Where as Ava would be aaaaa va, or ave.
I like the look of Eva better than Ava but I am torn on how to say it. I believe in Europe it is said Ava.
I see you like it said EEE va.
I do not think it is as popular as Ava, but I do think its climbing the charts pretty fast as people like you and myself look for alternatives to the much loved Ava.
Another suggestion (which my DH said no too but I think is cute and you might consider) Ada.
Good Luck...I look foward to reading everyone's comments here about the eva/ava debate.
I like it...it might be popular just because E names are popular in general, and it's close to Evelyn, but I don't see it too often on this board.
