My husband and I are thinking of this name for our baby boy due in October... any thoughts?  We thought of Gordon first, but then realized my Father-in-law's middle name is spelled "Gorden" - we are happy to name him after my FIL, but it is not really the normal spelling.

I like the name, but I'm not a fan of changing the spelling. You and he will constantly correct it, it will frequently be spelled wrong. If you're okay with that then great, but if you're not I would stick to traditional spellings.

I think be nice for him to have his own first name and Gorden would be okay in the middle spelt to honor

This. It's a pain to always have to spell your name, make it easy on the kid

Maybe your FIL would still feel honored if you used his name but spelled it correctly. ?

I think if your FIL would still feel honored if you spelled it Gordon, you should DEFINITELY spell it that way.

I think if you use it as a FN, you should spell it Gordon. If you use it as a MN, spell it Gorden.

I think Gordie is a cute NN for a little boy. It reminds me of Stand By Me.

I like it, that spelling is fine to honour someone.  I had a parakeet named Gordon because he was quite distinguished and that was the name that came to mind.  Don't worry I'm not saying it is a bird name, just that I like it.
