So, I'm still on the fence about having a third kid (DH is totally on board). I'm pushing 37 and currently have a Mirena. Anyone have experience/issues with fertility after removing a Mirena?
Many thanks!

I am currently pregnant with #3. I had my mirena removed and went all natural no BC for several months. We were not trying to get pregnant but we obviously weren't trying too hard not too also. I had no issues but I think I am fertile like the Nile!!!
I will be curious to hear your story if you have the mirena removed. Some days I think about having our 4th - but I am not ready yet. I also have the mirena & my doctor (who has 4 boys) told me that his wife used the mirena between kids & it actually helped her since she also (like me) had problems getting pregnant.
Currently my plan is Mirena removal in the fall and hopefully a BFP by January. I don't want to wait too long (I'll be 37 in November) but I'm just beginning to feel like my body belongs to me again after BF DS for 13 months. If the Mirena removal is going to be yucky and involve months of bleeding, I'd like to be prepared!! I'll keep you posted!

Lurker chiming in (I'll be less lurking in a few weeks!)
I had Mirena for nearly 7 years and had it removed in March 2010 - we used natural family planning but not very consistently, we were on the fence and left it up to nature. We got pregnant in June, miscarried in late July/early Aug.
In October I O'd early and am currently 36w pregnant.
Removal was a non-event. Done during my annual exam. I had a period like normal after that. And fertility was NOT the least affected - quite the opposite.
