Can anyone recommend a cordless drill?

I plan to get DH a new cordless drill for Father's Day.  His has never held a charge for long, and at this point, won't hold one at all.  Any recs for a good one that actually holds a charge??
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).

Re: Can anyone recommend a cordless drill?

  • My DH loves Milwaukee drills.  If you can find one that comes with an extra battery pack that is a plus too.

DH and my BIL have a drill for everyday of the week so I can't help you much!

    Great father's day idea!

  • My DH has had his Black and Decker for 8 years I think! He loves it, but it did finally take it's last spin. The battery held up, but the motor burned out!
  • I have a set of two small, but powerful, Makita drills that I LOVE! They are sold in pairs (2 different types of drills) in a silver metal box/case. They are also sold individually. After remodeling our house (I, not my DH did the majority of the work... It's not his thing) i was so happy to hang up my DeWalt drill for these. They're amazing.
    siggy should be here!

Ditto. We've had our B&D drill five years and no complaints. DH bought an extra battery so there's one in the drill and one charged and ready switch out if we're using it for a big project.

After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!

  • Thanks for all the recs!  I didn't realize there were so many options.  I'm seeing 1/2 in drill, 3/8 in drill...how do I know what to get?  I just want a standard cordless drill.

My DH has the 18v 1/2in drill.  My BIL is also a licensed general contractor and uses mainly DeWalt products.
